The Area
Ayia Thekla
The corner shop just 2 minutes walk from the villa on the road, milk, bread and essentials. The nearby supermarket for the weekly shop is 5 minutes up the road towards Ayia Napa on the right hand side. The supermarket is very well stocked and has a bar and restaurant next door.
From the house you can take a leisurely stroll to the Ayia Thekla Beach restaurant which offers a wide range of delicious dishes. The walk back alongside the sea is often a welcome one, especially after a bit of overindulgence on the local food and wine!
Ayia Thekla Beach
Thekla Beach boasts beautiful white sands - clean, shallow waters and , I believe, a blue flag beach with a lifeguard in attendance. There are beds & umbrellas to hire and a small cafe for snacks & drinks.
Landa Golden Beach is brilliant for kids and adults as it has a slopping beach, water sports, sun beds and a choice of 4 tavernas on the beach.
All of the beaches along Ayia Napa front are great, Makronissos beach, Ayia Napa harbour and of course the famous Nissi beach.
Potamos
Literally a 5 minute drive away, is “Potamos” A tiny fishing port that has working fishing boats moored against the banks. This delightful little port has a choice between two seafood restaurants, both serving fresh fish daily.
Ayia Napa
Ayia Napa has risen to fame as one of the worlds great dance party destinations its main square is packed with bars and café tables, but there is also much more than mere nightlife to this purpose built sunshine resort, only steps away from the hedonistic crowds is a tranquil oasis, the medieval Ayia Napa Monastery. Whilst down on the seafront the little harbour still keeps it’s village character amongst the private yachts and day cruise ships.
Water World
Water World is only 3km from the house with flumes and lagoons, Water World is a landmark of Ayia Thekla its has plenty of family fun with gentle rides and shallow pools for younger kids and roller coasters/slides for teenagers and adults. Visit www.waterworldwaterpark.com for more information.

Cape Greco is one of the islands most popular locations with a variety of caves and reefs an ideal place for snorkeling and diving. Marine life such as, breams, groupers, wrasses, mullets, octopuses and pipe fish.
Cape Greco
This headland on the south shore of a peninsula is only 10km from the house and offers clear waters and the best snorkeling in the area, for a day out picnicking, fishing, sunbathing, swimming or just watching the pleasure boats anchoring off shore this area is not to be missed.
The Troodos Mountains
To gain a complete picture of Cyprus some time should be spent in the mountains. The Troodos Mountains are particularly high and provide a welcome escape from the heat of the plains. There are several hill resorts with good restaurants and things to do like walking, bird watching, riding, churches and monasteries. Shrysorrogiatissa Monastery is devoted to “Our Lady of the Golden Pomegranate” (the symbol of Cyprus) and guard a treasury of icons and costly religious ornaments.
